A Providence Education

Guided by the desire to take full advantage of God-given disposition preschoolers have to learn.  Children in this stage of the classical model posses an innate an absolute thrill for learning.  In our classes we maximize this zeal by offering much more than the traditional phonics, math, and social skill development.

  • We memorize Scripture - lots of rich, life-giving, powerful Scripture.
  • We memorize the poetry of great poets, such as Longview, Dickinson, Frost, Blake, and Yeats.
  • We sing hymns filled with fantastic theology.
  • We sing facts, such as the name of presidents, the fruits of the Spirit, and the order of the planets from the sun.
  • We act out stories and put on plays.
  • We observe art and learn about the masters who produce it.  We study techniques and even try to recreate the masterpieces ourselves.
  • We attend field trips and campus expeditions.

See Our Classroom in Action

Because "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom," we strive to make Christ the focus of everything we do in Pre-K and Kindergarten.  We want to partner with parents to develop in preschool children a Biblical world-view, so that the filter they view their surroundings, assimilate information, and make decisions is based on truth that is not relative, but a solid foundation on which to build their lives.

Our motto at Providence is to "training for the excellece to the glory of God."  If you come and spend time in Pre-K, you will soon realize that although training the mind through gifted teachers and rigorous curricula is highly prized, training the mind for excellence to God's glory is even more unique and precious part of what we do within these walls.
